Fix App Not Appearing on CHIGEE Display (CarPlay/Android Auto)

Fix App Not Appearing on CHIGEE Display (CarPlay/Android Auto)

If an app is not showing up on your CHIGEE Display while using CarPlay or Android Auto, it’s often due to one of the following reasons: app compatibility, system permissions, or launcher settings. Follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue.

1. Check If the App Supports CarPlay or Android Auto

Not all apps are compatible with CarPlay or Android Auto. To confirm if your app supports it:

  • Search the app name + “CarPlay” or “Android Auto” online
    e.g., “Sygic CarPlay support”

  • If the developer officially states that the app supports it, then it should be able to appear on your CHIGEE display once properly connected.

2. Allow App to Appear in Your Chigee

Even if an app is compatible, it may be hidden from the default launcher. You’ll need to manually enable it in your system settings.

For Android Auto:

  1. Open the Settings app on your phone
  2. Go to Connection & Sharing
  3. Tap Android Auto (or search “Android Auto” in the search bar)
  4. Scroll down and tap Customize Launcher
  5. Checkmark the apps you want to appear (e.g. OsmAnd, Sygic)
  6. ✅ Ensure the app is selected to be shown on the display

For CarPlay:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone
  2. Go to General > CarPlay
  3. Select your CHIGEE Display from the list
  4. Tap Customize
  5. Use the Add (+) or Remove (-) buttons to manage which apps appear

3. Restart and Reconnect

Sometimes a simple reboot can help the system refresh:

  • Restart both your phone and the CHIGEE Display
  • Ensure your phone's OS and app versions are up to date
