How apps work on the CHIGEE Display
Does the CHIGEE Display have built-in apps?
The CHIGEE Display doesn't have built-in apps, and you can't install apps on it. The CHIGEE Display shows apps from your phone over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, mainly through CarPlay, Android Auto or HiCar. If an app on your phone supports CarPlay, Android Auto or HiCar, you can use it on the CHIGEE Display.
Why does an app work differently on the CHIGEE Display than on my phone?
An app can look or work differently on CarPlay or Android Auto than on your phone for these reasons:
Platform limits: CarPlay and Android Auto aren't full phone mirrors. Apple or Google must approve an app for CarPlay or Android Auto, and only the supported functions appear, so some phone features are hidden, restricted or simplified.
Safety rules: Apple and Google block some functions while you ride to reduce distraction, such as typing, video playback and advanced settings.
Developer choices: some developers make a CarPlay or Android Auto version of their app that focuses on core functions, such as navigation, audio and voice commands.
The CHIGEE Display doesn't change or limit what an app can do. CarPlay, Android Auto and the app developer decide how the app works.
Can CHIGEE make an app appear on the CHIGEE Display?
CHIGEE can't make an app appear on the CHIGEE Display. Apple CarPlay, Google Android Auto and the app developer decide which apps appear. If an app supports CarPlay or Android Auto but doesn't appear, see An app doesn't appear on CarPlay or Android Auto.
Video and weather apps
Can I watch YouTube or Netflix on the CHIGEE Display?
You can't use video apps such as YouTube or Netflix on the CHIGEE Display. For safety, and to follow the rules for using CarPlay and Android Auto on a motorcycle, video apps can't be shown on the CHIGEE Display.
Can I use a weather radar app on the CHIGEE Display?
You can use a weather radar app on the CHIGEE Display if the app supports CarPlay or Android Auto. Run the app on your phone; it then appears in the CarPlay app list or the Android Auto launcher. These weather radar apps support CarPlay:
Weather on the Way (route forecast and live radar)
MyRadar (weather maps and radar)
Drive Weather (with Live Radar)
Weather Navigation for Car (live radar)
These weather radar apps support Android Auto, although Android Auto has fewer weather apps:

App availability and CarPlay or Android Auto support can change with your region, the app version and your phone's operating system. If you don't see the app, update the app and your phone, then connect again. If your preferred weather app doesn't support CarPlay or Android Auto, ask its developer to add support, or use one of the apps above.

How do I take a screenshot of CarPlay on the CHIGEE Display?
To take a screenshot of CarPlay on the CHIGEE Display, take a screenshot on your iPhone as usual while CarPlay is connected. Your iPhone saves both the iPhone screen and the CarPlay screen, and you can keep the CarPlay screenshot in Photos.
