CHIGEE Displays with dashcam recording save short video segments and reuse storage by overwriting older unlocked recordings. You can choose 1, 2 or 3 minutes per segment in the recording settings.
How locked videos use storage
Locked videos are protected from ordinary loop overwriting. There is no fixed storage percentage reserved for ordinary and locked recordings. As locked videos accumulate, less room remains for ordinary loop recording.
If locked videos fill the recording storage completely, the display can no longer save new recordings. Save the videos you need, then format the storage in the display to make space again.
Important: Formatting deletes the recordings on the selected storage. Download and check your important videos before formatting.
Save important recordings
Use collision locking or manual locking to protect an event from normal loop overwriting. Download important clips promptly; a locked file is not a separate backup.
For download instructions, see Download dashcam videos with the CHIGEE GO App. Check the recording indicator before setting off, especially after storage has filled.
Automatic recording
The dashcam starts recording automatically when the motorcycle powers the display. Loop recording is designed to keep recent footage, but full locked storage, a card problem or interrupted power can stop new recordings from being saved.
