CHIGEE GO App can't connect to the CHIGEE Display for video downloads

Fix the CHIGEE GO App when it can't connect to your CHIGEE Display to download dashcam footage, most likely causes first.

When the CHIGEE GO App can't connect to your CHIGEE Display for video downloads, the cause is usually a phone setting: a VPN, your phone leaving the CHIGEE Display's Wi-Fi because it has no internet, or old CHIGEE Bluetooth and Wi-Fi records. You don't need a SIM card or mobile data to download videos.

Try these fixes first

  1. Stay on the download screen: on the AIO-6, stay on Settings > Video Download while you connect and download. On the AIO-5 Lite and XR-2, make sure Settings > Download is turned on.

  2. Turn off VPN: a VPN can block the connection between your phone and the CHIGEE Display.

  3. Stay on the CHIGEE Display's Wi-Fi: if your phone says the CHIGEE-XXXX network has no internet access, choose to stay connected. Turn off features such as WLAN+, smart network switching or auto-switch to mobile data, which Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO and other phones use to leave networks without internet.

If the problem continues

Update the CHIGEE GO App and firmware

Install the latest CHIGEE GO App from the App Store or Google Play, and update the CHIGEE Display on Settings > System Update.

Disconnect CarPlay and Android Auto

CarPlay or Android Auto can stop the CHIGEE Display from pairing with the CHIGEE GO App. Disconnect them before you connect the CHIGEE GO App.

Check your phone settings

  • App permissions: in your phone's settings, allow Bluetooth, Location and Storage for CHIGEE GO.

  • iPhone: go to Settings > Wi-Fi, tap the info icon next to CHIGEE-XXXX and turn off Limit IP Address Tracking.

  • Other Bluetooth devices: forget devices that may interfere, such as smartwatches or a BMW TFT display.

Clear old connections and restart

  1. On your phone, forget all CHIGEE devices in Bluetooth settings and forget the CHIGEE-XXXX network in Wi-Fi settings.

  2. On the CHIGEE Display, go to CarLink > Settings > Paired Devices and delete old CarPlay or Android Auto devices.

  3. Restart your phone and the CHIGEE Display, then connect again using the steps in Download dashcam videos with the CHIGEE GO App.

Reset the CHIGEE Display

If the CHIGEE GO App still can't connect, go to Settings > Reset on the CHIGEE Display, restart your phone and the CHIGEE Display, and connect again. Resetting restores the CHIGEE Display's settings to factory defaults, but it doesn't remove the CHIGEE Display from your CHIGEE GO App account.
