Update the XR-1 firmware

Update XR-1 firmware in the CHIGEE GO App, check official release notes and troubleshoot interrupted updates.

Update the XR-1 firmware through the CHIGEE GO App on your phone. You can install an official release or choose an available beta version for testing.

Before you start

Keep the XR-1 powered throughout the firmware update and keep your phone connected to the dashcam.

Important: Do not disconnect power or force-restart the XR-1 while firmware is being installed. Interrupting installation can cause the update to fail.

Install official firmware

  1. Open the CHIGEE GO App and connect to the XR-1.

  2. Tap Settings.

  3. Scroll to Firmware Version to check the installed version.

  4. Tap Check for Updates.

  5. If a newer release is offered, follow the prompts to download and install it.

  6. Wait for the XR-1 to restart, reconnect in the app, and check Firmware Version to confirm the installed version.

Try a beta version

XR-1 beta firmware is a test release and may contain unexpected bugs. Use the official release if you do not want to test new firmware.

  1. Open the XR-1 Settings page in the CHIGEE GO App.

  2. Scroll down and tap Check Beta Version.

  3. Follow the prompts if a beta version is available. After the update finishes and the XR-1 restarts, reconnect and check Firmware Version.

If the firmware upload fails

If the XR-1 shows Firmware upload interrupted and your phone is also connected to Android Auto, end that Android Auto session before trying again.

Keep the phone's Wi-Fi and Bluetooth available for the XR-1 connection. Prevent the other CHIGEE Display from reconnecting to Android Auto during the retry.

If the update still fails, contact us with your XR-1 serial number, installed firmware version, phone model, operating system, CHIGEE GO App version, and a screenshot or video of the exact error.

Collect app logs for support

For an XR-1 update failure, CHIGEE GO App logs can help support investigate the interrupted transfer.

  1. In the CHIGEE GO App, open My > Log Upload.

  2. Tap Start Collecting.

  3. Try the firmware update again and record the error shown.

  4. Upload the collected logs, then send support the upload time and the email used for your CHIGEE GO App account.
