Can I turn off recording on the XR-1?

Understand automatic recording, temporary playback pauses, and how to stop the XR-1 for maintenance or storage.

The XR-1 has no setting to permanently turn off recording in the dashcam or CHIGEE GO App. Recording starts automatically with normal ignition-powered operation.

Automatic recording and parking standby

The XR-1 records while it is operating normally with a working microSD card and connected cameras. It saves consecutive 2-minute clips.

After the ignition is turned off, enabled parking monitoring uses standby mode and wakes the XR-1 when vibration is detected. A constant battery connection does not mean the cameras record continuously while parked.

See Set up parking monitoring on the XR-1 for the parking behavior.

Recording pauses during app playback

Opening the XR-1 video preview or playback page in the CHIGEE GO App temporarily pauses recording. Exit that page to let recording resume automatically.

This temporary pause is not a permanent recording-off setting.

Stop recording for maintenance or storage

To stop XR-1 recording completely, disconnect its power supply, or disconnect the camera cables from the main unit. Power off the XR-1 before disconnecting camera cables.

Turning off the motorcycle ignition alone still allows parking monitoring if that feature is enabled and battery power remains connected.

When you restore the connections and power, check that the XR-1 is recording before riding. See Install and set up your XR-1 dashcam for the status lights.
