How the CHIGEE Display Works: Not a Standalone GPS Device

1. What the CHIGEE Display Is

The CHIGEE Display is not a standalone GPS device. It works as an extension of your smartphone, showing apps, navigation, music, and calls through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

2. How It Works

  • Connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
  • Mirrors apps through CarPlay or Android Auto.
  • Has no built-in navigation or standalone apps.

3. GPS and Data Source

The GPS signal and mobile data come from your smartphone, not the CHIGEE Display itself.
AIO-6 LTE also does not provide mobile data for navigation.

4. Using Offline Maps

You can use offline maps by downloading them on your smartphone before your ride. The CHIGEE Display will show offline maps as long as the phone remains connected. Live traffic and rerouting will not work without mobile data.

Note. What Is the CHIGEE GPS Used For?

The CHIGEE included GPS module is used to provide essential location-based data to the CHIGEE Display, including:

  • Time zone calibration
  • Accurate date and time
  • Tracking travel distance (odometer)
  • Displaying real-time speed
