How to Access Locked Videos on the XR-1 Dash Cam
This article applies to the CHIGEE XR-1 dash cam.
Your XR-1 protects locked videos — whether locked automatically by Collision Lock or manually by you — from being overwritten by loop recording. Since the XR-1 has no screen, there are two ways to view and save these files:
On the CHIGEE GO App: Connect your phone to the XR-1's Wi-Fi and open the CHIGEE GO app. You can view the locked footage, check the exact timeline of the recording, and download files straight to your smartphone.
On a Computer (via SD Card): When reading the SD card on your PC or Mac, you will only see the standard "front" and "rear" camera folders. Locked videos do not have a separate, dedicated folder.
To locate a locked file: First, check the timeline in the CHIGEE GO app to find the exact time of the event. Then, open the "front" or "rear" folder on your SD card, locate the video file that matches that timestamp, and save it to your local drive.
In fusion mode, the video is saved in the F file, regardless of whether the front or rear camera serves as the primary view.
Tip: If you locked the moment using the lock button on the Wired GPS Handlebar Controller, or captured it with the photo button, the timestamp from that action is the fastest way to pinpoint the matching file on the SD card.
