Dashcam Video Settings — Complete Guide

Dashcam Video Settings — Complete Guide

Applies to: CHIGEE displays with dashcam (e.g., AIO-5 Lite, AIO-6 with camera)
How to open: On the CHIGEE display, open Dashcam view → tap the screen → Settings (gear).

1) Resolution Settings (frame size & storage time)

Choose recording resolution and understand how long your microSD card can store footage before loop overwrite.

2) Fusion Output (combine front & rear)

  • Off = two files (front.mp4, rear.mp4).
  • On = one file with big+small PIP. The main/secondary view is locked in at recording time based on your settings. Since the video is already merged, you cannot switch which camera is the main picture during playback.
When to use: Use Fusion if you prefer a single timeline; use Separate if you edit front/rear independently.

3) Recording Duration (clip length)

Choose how long each loop clip is: 1 / 2 / 3 minutes.
  • Short (1 min): quicker file saving, easier to share.
  • Long (3 min): fewer files; good for uninterrupted reviewing.

4) Data Overlay (watermark)

Adds on-video data such as time, speed, latitude/longitude. Lean angle only work for AIO-6.
  • Keep On if you want evidence/trip logs on the footage.
  • More data can be superimposed in CHIGEE GO App.

5) Mirror Preview (reverse the preview only)

Flips the live preview for mirror-like viewing (useful for certain camera orientations).
  • Note: This does not mirror the recorded file unless explicitly stated—only the preview.

6) Collision Lock (G-sensor, file protection)

When a sudden impact/vibration is detected, the current clip is locked (won’t be overwritten by loop recording).
  • Sensitivity: High / Medium (default) / Low / Off
  • Tip: Rough roads/off-road can cause frequent locks. If you see a lock 🔒 icon or hear the shutter sound repeatedly, set sensitivity to Low or Off.

7) Parking Monitor (shake recording while parked)

If the bike is shaken while parked, the device silently records a ~60second video.

  • Sensitivity: High / Medium (default) / Low / Off
  • Note: Requires sufficient power in your setup; for battery protection, the system may disable parking monitor at low voltage.

8) Sound Recording (microphone volume)

Adjust the microphone level for in-clip audio.

  • Lower it to reduce wind noise; raise it to capture voice notes.
  • This slider does not affect system/media volumes.

9) Recording Indicator Light

Controls the visual cue that recording is active.

  • On → The on-screen REC indicator blinks during recording (helpful confirmation).
  • OffStealth mode; recording continues without the blinking indicator (useful at night or when you don’t want attention).
Turning this off does not stop recording.
