Fix CHIGEE GO App Connection for Video Download

Fix CHIGEE GO App Connection for Video Download

If you’re unable to connect your CHIGEE Display to the CHIGEE GO App for video downloads, it’s usually due to one of the following:
  • App permissions not granted
  • Conflicts from other active Bluetooth devices
  • Your phone is connected to an external Wi-Fi network
  • VPN is interfering with local connectivity

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting Guide

Step 0. Use the Latest App & Device Firmware

1. Make sure you have downloaded the latest version of the CHIGEE GO App from the official app stores:

If you experience issues, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app to eliminate any possible corruption or outdated files.

2. Update your CHIGEE Display to the latest firmware (on the device: Settings → System Update).

Step 1. Check Your Phone Environment

  1. Insert SIM Card & Enable Mobile Data: Ensure your phone has a SIM card inserted and that mobile data is turned on. The CHIGEE GO App need internet access during the pairing process to verify device info or fetch connection credentials.
  2. Disable CarPlay / Android Auto: These services may block the CHIGEE Display from pairing properly. Exit or disconnect them before using the app.
  3. Disable VPN: VPNs can block local connections. Make sure it's turned off before pairing.
  4. for iPhone Users: Please ensure that the Chigee Wi-Fi network has the following setting disabled: Go to Settings > Wi-Fi, Tap the “i” icon next to the Chigee Wi-Fi connection, Turn off the option “Limit IP Address Tracking”
  5. Check App Permissions: Go to Settings > Apps > CHIGEE GO > Permissions, and ensure Bluetooth, Location, and Storage permissions are granted.
  6. Remove Other Bluetooth Devices: In Bluetooth Settings, forget devices like smartwatches, BMW TFT displays, or other accessories that may interfere.

Step 2. Clean Up Previous Connections and Restart

On Your Phone:

  • Go to Bluetooth Settings and forget any previously paired CHIGEE devices
  • Go to Wi-Fi Settings and forget the CHIGEE-XXXX network

On the CHIGEE Display:

  • Go to CarLink > Settings > Paired Devices
  • Delete any previously connected CarPlay or Android Auto devices from the list

Then:

  • Restart both your phone and the CHIGEE Display to clear any cached or lingering connection data

Step 3. Enable Video Download Mode on the Display

For AIO-6:
please enter "Settings" and then go to "Video Download". It should be noted that during the process of app connection and video download, you need to stay on the "Video Download" interface and not exit it. This is to ensure that the connection and download operations can proceed smoothly without being interrupted, so as to avoid potential errors or download failures.

For AIO-5 Lite and XR-2:
  1. on your CHIGEE display, navigate to "Settings" and then select "Download". Toggle the "Download" switch to the "On" position.
  2. connect to the Wi - Fi network that is displayed on the "Download" screen. The SSID and password will be provided for you.
  3. in the app, tap the "Connect" button. Then, on the CHIGEE display, confirm the connection by selecting "OK".

Step 4. Reconnect via CHIGEE GO App

  1. Open the CHIGEE GO App
  2. Tap “Connect” and select your device from the list
  3. When prompted, allow the following:
    • Bluetooth pairing request
    • Permission for CHIGEE GO to join the Wi-Fi network (Chigee-XXXX)
    • Permission for Chigee-XXXX-LE to receive iPhone notifications (if using iOS)
  4. On the CHIGEE Display, you’ll see a pop-up prompt asking for pairing confirmation — make sure to tap "Pair" to complete the connection.

Step 5. Stay Connected

  • Ensure your phone remains connected to the CHIGEE Wi-Fi.
  • Avoid reconnecting to another known Wi-Fi network during this process.

Step 6. Reset and Retry (If Issues Persist)

If the connection still fails:
  1. Forget CHIGEE Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections again
  2. On the CHIGEE Display, go to Settings > Reset, and perform a device reset
  3. Restart both the phone and CHIGEE Display
  4. Retry the connection from Step 1
