What to do if water enters your CHIGEE Display

Stop using a CHIGEE Display after suspected water ingress and prepare photos and purchase details for a warranty review.

If your CHIGEE Display was exposed to water and now shows a black screen or will not power on, stop using it and disconnect power when safe. Do not turn it on again to test it. Check the port covers and collect the details below for a warranty review.

Stop using the CHIGEE Display

  1. Turn off the motorcycle or disconnect power to the display as soon as it is safe to do so.

  2. Do not keep trying to start the display. Repeated attempts may worsen internal damage if water has entered the unit.

Check the port covers and seals

Water ingress can occur if the SD card slot or USB service port cover has been opened or not sealed correctly.

  1. Recall whether you recently opened the SD card slot or USB port cover, inserted or removed a card, or connected a cable.

  2. Inspect the rubber sealing strip or gasket. Check that it lies flat, is fully seated and is not twisted.

  3. Check for sand, hair, dust or debris under the seal.

  4. Make sure the cover is fully closed and tightened correctly, where applicable.

If the seal is displaced or the cover is not closed correctly, water may enter the device. Do not power the unit on to test it after suspected water ingress.

Prepare the information for support

When you contact us, include the following information:

  • Photos of the display and any existing video showing the fault. Do not power the display on to make a new video after suspected water ingress.

  • A close-up photo of the SD card and USB port area, including the cover and seal condition.

  • Your order number.

  • Where you purchased the product, such as the CHIGEE official website, Amazon or another retailer.

Warranty and service review

Water ingress may be covered only if it is confirmed to be a product quality issue. If the device was opened or the port cover or gasket was not properly sealed, and water entered because of improper installation or handling, the damage may be classified as user-caused and after-sales service may not be available.

CHIGEE does not offer paid inspection or repair services for water-damaged displays. Any warranty remedy depends on the case review. Providing photos and purchase details helps the team assess the situation. See CHIGEE warranty policy for the service terms.
