What does a factory reset do on a CHIGEE Display?

See which settings and pairings a factory reset clears, what it keeps, and what to check before resetting.

A factory reset on a supported CHIGEE Display restores default settings and clears Bluetooth and Wi-Fi pairing records. It does not format storage or delete dashcam videos saved on the device or SD card.

What a factory reset changes

  • System and feature settings return to their defaults.

  • Bluetooth and Wi-Fi pairing records are cleared.

  • Dashcam video files remain on the device or SD card; storage is not formatted.

This guidance applies to the AIO-5, AIO-6, XR-2 and other CHIGEE Display models with the factory reset option.

Before and after resetting

Important: A factory reset is different from formatting the SD card. Formatting storage erases recorded files, so back up any footage you want to keep before formatting.

After a factory reset, pair your Bluetooth headset again, reconnect to Wi-Fi or your phone hotspot, and reapply any custom settings you use.

To erase recordings, open the Dashcam or Recorder storage settings and use the SD card format option, if available on your model. Confirm the selected storage before formatting.
