Connect BMW TFT and CHIGEE Display with One Headset (Audio Guide)

Many BMW riders want to use the Chigee Display for CarPlay or Android Auto while also keeping their BMW TFT connected for features like the Connected Ride App (ride tracking, navigation logs, and vehicle info). With proper setup, you can connect both devices at the same time along with your Bluetooth headset.

Based on feedback from our rider community, here are three different connection methods. The exact results may vary depending on your headset brand (e.g., Cardo, Sena, etc.) and your Chigee Display model. We recommend experimenting to find the method that works best for you.

Method 1: For Android Auto Users

This setup allows separation of phone calls and navigation/GPS prompts across two audio channels.

  1. Connect your phone to the BMW TFT.
  2. Connect your phone to the Chigee Display (via Android Auto).
  3. Pair your Bluetooth headset with the BMW TFT (Channel 1 – handles phone calls, media).
  4. Pair your Bluetooth headset with the Chigee Display (Channel 2 – handles GPS/CarPlay/Android Auto prompts).

✅ Advantage: You can split audio streams, keeping calls on the TFT and navigation on the Chigee Display.
⚠️ Limitation: Some headset brands may not support two simultaneous Bluetooth audio channels.

Method 2: Phone + Headset Direct Pairing

This method simplifies the chain but removes TFT–headset pairing.

  1. Connect your phone to the BMW TFT.
  2. Connect your phone to the Chigee Display (via CarPlay/Android Auto).
  3. Remove the headset pairing from the TFT.
  4. Pair your phone directly with the Bluetooth headset.

✅ Advantage: Reliable audio with fewer pairing conflicts.
⚠️ Limitation: When the Chigee Display is removed, the TFT cannot handle calls or phonebook functions because the headset is no longer paired to it.

  • No call making/receiving through TFT.
  • No caller ID display.
  • No phonebook access on TFT.

Method 3: Standard TFT Priority Connection

This is the simplest method, but limits Chigee audio.

  1. Connect your phone to the BMW TFT.
  2. Connect your phone to the Chigee Display (via CarPlay/Android Auto).
  3. Pair your Bluetooth headset only with the BMW TFT.
  4. ✅ Advantage: Stable and familiar BMW TFT integration.

⚠️ Limitation: Chigee Display’s audio (navigation prompts, alerts, music) may not transmit to the headset, since audio is routed only through the TFT.

Recommendations

  • Cardo & Sena users: Some models support dual-channel Bluetooth pairing, making Method 1 possible. Check your headset manual.
  • Riders using BMW Connected Ride App: Keep the TFT connection active to ensure ride tracking and logging.
  • If audio is inconsistent: Test different methods to balance call handling, GPS voice guidance, and media playback.
