How to Connect an Android Phone to the AIO-6 via Android Auto

To connect an Android phone to your AIO-6 for the first time, tap the Phone Mirror icon on the home screen, then select the Android Auto icon. The Phone Mirror function defaults to CarPlay (for iPhone), so Android users must manually switch to Android Auto before the device can connect. This step is required only for the initial setup.
Before you start
Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your phone. Wireless Android Auto uses your phone's Bluetooth for pairing and a 5GHz Wi-Fi band for data transfer. Note that 5GHz here refers to a Wi-Fi frequency band, not 5G cellular service.
Connection steps
- Open Phone Mirror. On the AIO-6 home screen, tap the Phone Mirror icon.
- Switch to Android Auto. The screen defaults to CarPlay mode. Select the Android Auto icon located to the right of the CarPlay option. Do not stay on the default CarPlay screen — an Android phone will not connect in CarPlay mode.
- Confirm pairing on your phone. Accept the Bluetooth pairing request and any Android Auto permission prompts that appear on your phone.
- Wait for the connection to complete. Once connected, the Android Auto interface appears on the AIO-6 screen.
After the first successful connection, the AIO-6 supports auto-connect. Your phone should reconnect automatically on future rides without repeating these steps.
Why your Android phone may fail to connect
The most common cause of a first-time connection failure is staying on the default CarPlay screen. The AIO-6 launches Phone Mirror in CarPlay mode for iPhone users, and it will not detect an Android phone until you select the Android Auto icon. If your phone repeatedly fails to connect, check the mode selection first before troubleshooting Bluetooth or Wi-Fi settings.
